Frequently Asked Questions

Counseling vs Therapy

The terms are pretty interchangeable, and the main difference usually comes down to what the professional studied or the treatment approach.

For me, whether you call it counseling or therapy, it’s not about giving advice. It’s about asking the right questions at the right time so you can explore your thoughts and figure things out for yourself. You know yourself best, so you’re the only one who has the full picture to connect the pieces and make sense of it all.

*I don’t prescribe medication, and I’m not a life coach.

My Specialties & Approach

I specialize in anxiety therapy for teens and young adults, including generalized anxiety, relationship anxiety, identity exploration, and self-esteem challenges.

I also support first- and second-generation individuals navigating family dynamics, cultural expectations, and intergenerational trauma, creating a space where clients feel understood, affirmed, and empowered.

My therapeutic approach includes pulling from Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Exposure Therapy.

Insurance?

I do not currently accept insurance. Clients may request a superbill for potential reimbursement from their insurance provider. I do not communicate with insurance companies on behalf of clients and cannot guarantee reimbursement. In the event of a claim denial, clawback, or other adjustment, the client is solely responsible for any outstanding balance.

Who is my clientele?

I work with individuals ages 12 and up, and I’ve found that teens and young adults often feel comfortable and at ease opening up with me.

Sessions are available in English and Spanish.

Virtual or in-person sessions?

I offer both virtual and in-person counseling sessions.

If you’re wondering where to start, I usually recommend an in-person session for your first visit- it’s a great way to get a feel for the experience and connect face-to-face.
